One Response to Disciplines

    KVR Wild Bunch Matches
This year, 2012, we are scheduling several “stand alone” Wild Bunch Matches at Buffalo Flats, the first being on April 28. They will be 4 to 6 stage matches depending on the type of scenarios used. All current WBAS rules will be followed within the regular categories, plus there will be an “Open Category”.
    Open Category
An open category will be offered to encourage participation for our regular Cowboy shooters as well as shooters from other disciplines. This will allow shooters that haven’t acquired all the right equipment to participate and compete in a WB Match. ALL WILD BUNCH SAFETY AND OPERATIONAL RULES WILL BE IN EFFECT. Open Category participants will be allowed to use any caliber semi-auto pistol or revolver (single or double action), be prepared to shoot 15-20 pistol rounds per stage. Any semi-auto, pump, lever or double/single shotgun may be used , be prepared to shoot 6-8 rounds per stage. Any rifle style (?) may be used, any caliber, be prepared to shoot 10 rounds per stage. We will try to accommodate all shooters and acceptable firearms and ammunition AS LONG AS THEY ARE SAFE AND RANGE COMPLIANT. Regular CAS shooters and equipment are welcome in this category also. Great opportunity for practice. If in doubt, ASK FIRST.
    Open Category Ammunition
Regardless of what type of firearm you may use, the ammo must conform to all KVR and SASS rules for obvious safety reasons. No pistol ammo will be allowed over 1000fps, rifle not over 1400fps (preferably less) and shot gun ammo must be low powered field or target loads, 7 ½ shot size max. All LEAD bullets and shot are required. Shooters will be responsible for target damage if using over-powered ammo and will be immediately Match D Q’ed…If in doubt, ASK FIRST.
    Basic Range Rules
This a “cold range”, the only loaded firearms will be between the loading and unloading tables. DO NOT come to the loading table with a clip or magazine in any firearm. ALL firearms will be checked clear before loading at the loading table by the loading officer. ABSOLUTELY NO MOVEMENT is allowed anywhere on the range or firing line with a round in the chamber. All semi-auto firearms WILL BE CHECKED by the RO/TO BEFORE LEAVING THE FIRING LINE and then continue to the unloading table. If you are not familiar with the WB rules, READ AND LEARN THEM. If in doubt, ASK FIRST…

The shooters fee will be $15.00 per match. Shooters may sign up for additional rounds for $ 10.00 per round. All shooters are expected to help with the posse duties unless physically unable. All and any help setting up before the match would be appreciated. The Corral or Fort will be available before the match for practice, testing and tuning and possibly chronograph ammo testing. All range safety rules will be observed, the main firing line will be “cold” until the match begins. As stated before, the Match Director and the Range Officers reserve the right to allow or disallow any firearm or ammunition deemed unsafe or inappropriate for use on our range especially in the “Open Category”. All shooters using non “Cowboy” type firearms and/or ammunition will be expected to be very familiar and proficient with them. As always, IF IN DOUBT, ASK FIRST……
